Plagiarism Policy

Islamic Society and Education Nexus maintains a zero-tolerance policy regarding plagiarism. We believe that original research is the foundation of scholarly "nexus" and technological innovation. All manuscripts submitted to this journal must be original and have not been published elsewhere.

Plagiarism Screening

All submitted manuscripts are screened for similarity using Turnitin or iThenticate. This process occurs twice:
1. Immediately upon submission (Desk Review).
2. Before the final acceptance (Production stage).

Similarity Threshold

To be considered for peer review, a manuscript should generally meet the following criteria:

  • Maximum Overall Similarity: 20%
  • Maximum Similarity from a Single Source: 3%
  • Excluded: Quotes, Bibliography, and small matches (less than 10 words).

Types of Plagiarism Addressed:

Our policy covers: Direct copying of text without citation, paraphrasing without proper credit, self-plagiarism (duplicate publication of one's own work), and fabrication of data.

Actions & Sanctions

If plagiarism is detected, the journal follows the COPE guidelines:

  • Before Publication: The manuscript will be rejected immediately, and the author may be barred from submitting for up to 2 years.
  • After Publication: The article will be formally retracted, and a public notice of retraction will be issued. The author's institution may be notified.

Authors are strongly encouraged to conduct their own similarity check prior to submission to ensure the integrity of their work.
